KTM RC 200 and RC 390 launching on 9th September: Official

KTM has sent us an official press invite, which confirms the launch of RC 390 and RC 200 on 9th September, 2014. The company is going to launch both the bikes together in Pune. The Bikes are based on the platform of the KTM 200 Duke and 390 Duke, while looks inspired by the RC 8R. The supersport styled motorcycle features a full body fairing, large wind shield, twin projector headlamps, masculine fuel tank, split seats and many more to provide a proper superbike feal. The comapany has designed the pillion seat in an integrated manner that it looks like a seat cowl.
KTM RC 200 shares the 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine with the 200 Duke, which churns out a maximum power of 25bhp. Powering the KTM RC 390 is the 373.2cc motor of the similar configuration, which also powers the 390 Duke with 43bhp of maximum power. Both the bikes will come with WP inverted front forks and rear mono-shock suspension system. The 17" painted alloys are covered by wide track tyres and equipped with 300mm and 230mm disc brakes at the front and the rear respectively.
The KTM RC 200 and RC 390 are expected to be priced around Rs. 1.7 and 2.2 lakh respectively and they will compete for the likes of Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Hyosung GT250R.
