The Austrian automaker - KTM finally brings the updated versions of its all four products - 200 Duke, 390 Duke, RC 200 and RC 390 in India. However, the launch of these updates was silent as the manufacturer decided to directly start retailing the new models across the dealerships without any prior announcement. The most updated of the lot - the RC 390 now comes with a slipper clutch that already seen in the 390 Duke. The official website has also been updated with the new models and the prices have been revealed.
The new RCs have been integrated with restyled rear view mirrors for better visibility. All four models have been updated with adjustable hand levers and new cushioning on the seat for more comfort. Besides this, the ‘always ON’ headlamps have also been equipped in the bikes and the ON/OFF switch for the headlamp has been removed. The Indian spec RC models will continue to come with the same underbelly exhaust setup that used to come in the previous versions. Earlier, there were speculations that the 2016 models would be equipped with aluminium side mounted exhaust. Since the underbelly one manages to satisfy the existing emission norms in India, the company didn’t replace it.
The 2016 KTM models have also been equipped with new ECU mounts, improved radiator fans and a revised paint job for better performance and improved visuals. The 200 Duke and RC 200 will now come with MRF tyres and a bigger 300mm front disc brake for enhanced stopping power. The new prices for the 2016 models are Rs. 1.40 lac for 200 Duke, Rs. 1.65 lac for RC 200, Rs. 1.91 lac for 390 Duke and Rs. 2.09 lac for RC 390 (all prices, ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai). The upgrades will surely expand the customer database of KTM who is already the segment leader in the country due to the value for money packages it offers. Stay tuned for more updates!
