Now KTM has confirmed that the new model will be equipped with single cylinder engine that is more powerful over its predecessor. Reportedly, the new single cylinder engine will deliver 7 percent more power and 6 percent extra torque versus the existing model which puts up 67 bhp approximately. Also, the exhaust meets the Euro 4 emission standard.
Several changes have been made by KTM in the engine of 690 Duke 2016. The specifications including the bore increases from 102mm to 105mm and the stroke length reduces from 84.5mm to 80mm, thus increasing the total displacement from 690cc to 693cc. It results in lower vibration levels, increased horsepower and torque. 2016 Duke comes with three ride modes, Sport, Street and Rain, selectable by the updated left handlebar switchgear.
On cosmetic upgrades, the new KTM Duke will not receive any changes except the black colored trellis frame instead of the orange paint unit but we hope that the chassis will receive KTM’s trademark color. The other changes in KTM duke 690 include a new instrument cluster and exhaust system. The instrument cluster of 2016 KTM Duke will change colors depending upon the light conditions. The safety features will include Bosch ABS and traction control.
More details about the 2016 KTM Duke 690 will be available after the official announcement at this year’s EICMA Motor Show.
