Kymco’s First Offering In India Could Be The Like EV

The upcoming electric scooter is likely to be priced around Rs 1 lakh

• Was first unveiled at 2018 Intermot.
• Like EV will use the company’s Ionex platform.
• Powered by two lithium-ion batteries.
• It will get top-shelf features like a fully digital instrument cluster, navigation, LED lights and more. 

Kymco is all set to make a splash into the Indian two-wheeler market. The company is all set to launch the Like EV, which could be its first offering in India.

The Like EV gets a retro design language. Even though it looks like an old-school scooter, it gets all the modern features that one would expect in this day and age -- like LED lights, a USB socket and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The upcoming electric scooter will use the brand’s Ionex charging platform. Thanks to this, Kymco will offer swappable batteries with the scooter, which can be recharged at home or at dedicated charging points. We all know how cumbersome it is to swap the batteries so to make it easy for consumers, they’ve kept the weight of the batteries quite low, at 5kg. The Like EV features a brushless DC motor which produces 3.2kW (4.3PS) of power. 

There’s no word on the price yet but we expect the Like EV to retail around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). Stay tuned to BikeDekho for more updates.
