The MV Agusta F3 800 RC (Reparto Corse) is a road-going replica of the MV Agusta Reparto Corse team's F3 used in the FIM Superbike World Championship, and is a limited edition of just 350 units.
The exotic Italian motorcycle manufacturer, MV Agusta, recently marked its official entry in India, followed by the launch of its middleweight supersport motorcycle - the F3 800, priced at Rs. 16.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). Along with the standard version, the company also launched the Reparto Corse edition of the superbike - the F3 800 RC, a limited edition of 350 units that comes with a price tag of Rs. 19.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
The MV Agusta F3 800 RC is a road-going replica of the team Reparto Corse's F3 ridden by Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti in the FIM Superbike World Championship. Along with the unique paint scheme, the bike also gets an 'AMG' badging - that is the high-performance division of Mercedes-Benz, who owns a 25 per cent stake in MV.
Powering the F3 800 RC is the same 798cc, liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine that propels the standard version as well. The highly advanced mid-size engine makes a maximum power output of 148bhp at 13,000rpm, with torque standing at 88Nm at 10,600rpm, and the limiter is set to cut in at 13,500rpm.
The bike has a dry weight of just 173 kg which helps it to accelerate faster and provide performance that is almost comparable to a litre-class machine. Further, it comes packed with the most advanced technologies available in the market including MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) with six injectors, Engine control unit Eldor EM2.0, throttle body full drive-by-wire Mikuni, pencil-coil with ion-sensing technology, Torque control with four maps, Traction Control with eight levels of intervention, Electronic quick shift MV EAS (Electronically Assisted Shift) and a lot more.
The MV Agusta F3 800 RC gets double 320mm floating discs with four-piston Brembo radial-type monobloc calipers at the front and a single 220mm steel disc with two-piston Brembo calipers at the rear. The system comes backed by Bosch 9 Plus ABS System with Race Mode and RLM (Rear wheel Lift-up Mitigation). The front is suspended on 43mm adjustable Marzocchi USD forks while the rear gets progressive Sachs single shock absorber with rebound and compression damping and spring preload adjustment.
