A blast from the past with a futuristic outlook
A day after LML’s upcoming Hyperbike e-cycle was spied on, a leaked image of its second offering – likely to be called ‘LML Star’ – has surfaced. And like its competition from the 90’s – Bajaj Chetak – LML’s new scooter too shall be an electric to remain relevant in the present.
While the Hyperbike looks sporty, we were guessing the e-scooter to be more ‘retro’ in theme. However, to our pleasant surprise, the Star has chosen to steer clear of nostalgia in favour of a sporty scooter design.
It gets a tall apron, LED lighting, three-spoke alloys, chunky tyres, disc brakes at either end, digital instrumentation (likely an LCD unit with smartphone connectivity) and will be a belt-driven scooter like the Ather 450X and Simple One. The floorboard appears unusually bulky in the spy shot, suggesting it could be housing the battery pack. This setup could leave ample room for underseat storage.
Yesterday’s Hyperbike spy shots revealed the e-cycle sporting a supermoto design featuring USD fork and monoshock, disc brakes at either end and a TFT display. However, look closer and you will find pedals, suggesting it could be faster than other e-cycles, but not as sporty as an e-bike.

BREAKING: Hero Vida e-Scooter To Get Gogoro’s Swappable Battery Tech
We have known about LML’s comeback plan for some time now, thanks to its recent partnership with eROCKIT, a German EV bikemaker. The two brands have signed a ‘Letter Of Intent’ to make a desi version of the eROCKIT e-bike.
The hardware on both the recently spied LMLs look promising, but with the right pricing and a healthy spread of dealership network, welcoming LML to the e-mobility space tomorrow will be more heartfelt.
That said, the LML e-scooter could be priced at around Rs 1 lakh, and will rival the Ola S1 and TVS iQube in terms of price; but in terms of hardware, it will rival Hero Optima CX and the upcoming Honda e-scooter.
