The more affordable version of the Mahindra Mojo will get regular telescopic forks, single muffler and other changes to bring down the price significantly.
After providing a plethora of premium features on its flagship offering, it seems as if Mahindra is changing its strategy with the Mojo now. The company is working on a new variant of the bike which will be significantly cheaper than the existing model. The more affordable version of the Mojo has been spotted in public during its test runs and there are some major changes on the bike which can make its price much lesser than the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming Bajaj VS400.
The test mule was spotted featuring regular telescopic forks instead of the beefy USD forks that come with the existing Mahindra Mojo. Also, the company is going to eliminate the left exhaust muffler from the upcoming trim. The premium Pirelli Diablo Rosso II rubber might get replaced with MRF tyres and the disc brake diameter might also get reduced to cut costs. Some reports claim that the affordable version of the bike could also ditch the EFI system as well as the dual headlamp unit, which could further reduce the cost significantly.
After all these changes, Mahindra will be able to price this new bike very aggressively in the market. We can't say whether the company will keep the name “Mojo” or launch it with new branding. However, the new model will directly challenge the Royal Enfield motorcycles, which are the most preferred touring motorcycle options in the country. So, it will be an interesting battle to watch as the other Indian manufacturer Bajaj is also entering the ring soon with its trusted Pulsar brand. Now, a major advantage of these offerings depends on the pricing, so let's wait for the next update.
