Mahindra to go Eco-Friendly with GenZe 2.0 Electric Scooter at Auto Expo

Mahindra will be bringing its eco-friendly electric scooter - GenZe 2.0 at the 2016 Auto Expo. The company is also planning to make its debut in the U.S. market soon with this vehicle. The other product that will be making its appearance at the Mahindra stall is the 2016 Moto3 Racer motorcycle that was also showcased in the previous edition. 

Mahindra GenZe 2.0 is backed up by a 1.6kwh Li-ion removable battery pack that can be charged from 0 to 100 percent in 3.5 hours and helps in producing 13.25kgm of torque. With this, the scooter can sprint from 0 to a top speed of 48kmph in less than 8 seconds and can cover a range of around 50kms after a full charge. GenZe has been provided with 12V charging sockets at the front and rear to offer convenience and connect peripheral devices on the go. 

The rider can keep an eye on the performance of the scooter through his smartphone. With a pin code security lock, Mahindra has given assistance to safeguard the scooter from any theft. Mahindra GenZe 2.0 has been aided with dual disc brakes to bring it to a halt as and when required. The scooter also comes with three riding modes viz. Sport, Economy and Easy to set the riding behaviour as per the requirement. 

Talking of body design, the GenZe sits on an aluminium chassis that runs through its edge. The LED headlamp looks somewhat stylish with the transparent windshield and offers good illumination in the dark. The single-piece handlebar helps to maneuver the scooter with ease and looks elegant with the chrome finished brake levers. The instrumentation comprises of a 7-inch touchscreen display that shows useful information such as speed, range, remaining battery, etc. Though it would be tricky to say that Mahindra will launch this scooter in India or not, the price tag of around Rs. 2 lac would definitely make it a choice of one in a million.
