Providing a helmet with the sale of every two-wheeler will be mandatory for the Indian dealers anytime soon. K. Ravindra Naik, transport commissioner, said while referring to the Section 138 (4) (F) of the central motor vehicles act 1989 that states that every two-wheeler manufacturer should provide a protective headgear to every two-wheeler buyer.

Adding further to the statement, he said that the main idea behind this new action to be taken is to avoid fatal and serious injuries that occur in road accidents. Rachna Yaduvanshi, ARTO (admin) Noida, said “We will conduct a surprise inspection of all the automobile dealers in the city. We will take action if anyone fails to follow the rule.” The news came as a surprise for all the dealerships and speaking on the information, one of the dealers said “We have not got any instruction from the officials to provide the helmet along with the vehicle. We will follow the rules if we get the information.”

This new step seems like a sensible action if it gets imposed as some of the two-wheeler riders prefer not to wear safety gears and that turns into casualties. If this rule gets into action soon, the buyers have to buy mandatory helmets and there is a possibility that people will use it. However, people don’t bother about wearing such gears (helmet) and it does not matter if safety gears are made mandatory or not. The public itself needs to be aware of the fact that their safety is in their own hands.
