Mahindra Singh Dhoni’s RD350 produces over 60PS!
The Yamaha RD350 is one of the most iconic bikes to ever bless Indian roads in the late 1980s. Former Indian cricket team captain, Mahindra Singh Dhoni, shares the love for this iconic bike and had Blue Smoke Customs modify one for himself.
The motorcycle is propelled by an imported two-stroke, 347cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing over 60PS. The Indian version of the bike was powered by an air-cooled motor and produced around 30PS, which was considered to be a crazy amount of power back then. The bike is also fitted with a flat slide carburetor, which increases the air flow, consequently improving the performance of the bike.

In terms of styling, the bike gets a custom Chennai Super Kings theme, with a yellow paint job and blue rims, which we have got to admit is a little too tacky, but shows Dhoni’s love for the team. It also features a custom clip-on handlebar.
The custom RD350 borrows the wheels, suspension and a dual disc brake setup from the Honda CBR650. It features an inverted USD fork up front and a twin shock setup at the rear. The braking equipment consists of a dual disc brake up front and a single disc at the rear.
The Yamaha RD350 is among the first performance-oriented motorcycles to set foot in India and enjoys a cult status even today, with a high market value for resale.
