French Mobility startup Mob-ion claims its scooter to have a range of 140km
Mob-ion, a french mobility startup, has introduced the AM1, its newest electric scooter that has been in talks for quite some time and is L1e certified. It is propelled by a 3kW motor, which is the nominal output.
The scooter packs two removable batteries (placed under the saddle) offering a range of up to 140km. Mob-ion claims that the scooter can be fully charged in about two hours and thirty minutes, and it gets a top speed of 45kmph.
In terms of features, the AM1 electric scooter possesses all the modern-day essentials, including LED headlights, a reverse gear, a GPS system, and a remote shutdown function (via a smartphone or computer) as an anti-theft feature.
The French electric scooter weighs about 92kgs (very light by EV standards) and is available in two variants: single-seater and two-seater.

The AM1 gets the status of 'made-in-France' and the Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR) accreditation. Only products involving more than 50 percent localisation in France get the AFNOR accreditation.
The electric scooter is now available in France for rent at a monthly subscription fee of 99 Euros and can be bought for 3,582 Euros (Rs 3.04 lakh). Given its high pricing, the Mob-Ion AM1 wouldn’t be heading to India, but you can check out worthwhile alternatives like the Ather 450X and the Ola S1 Pro.
