More Bajaj V Motorcycles Coming Soon

Looking at the success of the newly-launched V15, Bajaj is planning to bring more products under the 'V' brand in the near future.

Just after a couple of months of its launch, the Bajaj V15 joined the group of top 10 selling motorcycles in the country, due to its attractive features and pricing. Looking at the success of the bike, the company is now planning to bring more products on the same platform. Rajiv Bajaj, managing director, Bajaj Auto, said that the company will launch 2 new V motorcycles within 1 year, one of which will be introduced sometime around November this year. 

In talks with The Hindu BusinessLine, Rajiv Bajaj said, “From April 2016 to March 2018, the biggest focus for us is to leverage this platform we created so that we can get a very healthy share of the commuter market. The second will come sometime around November which will hopefully be an equal or bigger success than V15. Then I will give it another six months, which means the third will be out around May-June 2017.”

Positioned as an executive commuter brand, Bajaj V bridges the gap between the Discover and the Pulsar brands. The company hasn't provided even a hint of the upcoming bikes, however, we can expect at least one similar model with a different capacity engine. If we look at the previous strategies of the company, Bajaj has a knack of making different capacity bikes on a single platform. There will most likely be a 125cc version of the bike, which will be priced lower than the Honda CB Shine and Hero Glamour. It will help the company in gaining market share, while the other one could be a new 150cc or higher displacement model, strengthening the brand's portfolio in the premium segment.
