Piaggio has revealed the price of the Moto Guzzi V85 TT Adventure. The adventure tourer is priced at Rs 12.64 lakh (ex-showroom India), which puts it squarely against the BMW F 850 GS and the Triumph Tiger 800. Just in case you’re wondering, ‘TT’ here stands for ‘tutto terreno,’ or all-terrain. The bike is available on order bases for a limited time period as it doesn’t comply with Euro 5/BS6 emission norms.
What's worrying is the bike’s delivery period. According to our sources, the V85 will take over a month to be shipped and registered, which brings it really close to the April 2020 BS6 deadline. Any delay in shipment could be catastrophic. We have spoken to the folks at Piaggio but they haven’t clarified anything yet -- we’ll be sure to update you once they do.
The V85 TT Adventure draws power from a Euro 4 853cc air-cooled transverse V-twin that generates 80PS of power and 80Nm of peak torque. It uses a shaft drive to power the rear wheel instead of a conventional chain drive system.
Helping you ride better and safer are a number of electronic rider aids like ABS, traction control, cruise control, and three riding modes (Off-Road, Rain or Road). All these can be viewed and tweaked via the bike's bluetooth-enabled full-colour TFT screen.
The Moto Guzzi V85 Adventure uses a steel tube frame, USD fork and an off-set monoshock, both with preload adjustability. It features a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tube tyres. The entire package, which also accommodates a large 23-litre fuel tank, weighs in at 229kg.
Moto Guzzi also offers a road-biased version of the V85 TT overseas.
