MS Dhoni, Prabhu Deva Do The ‘Lungi Dance’ in Pongal Ad for TVS

Indian captain is Mahendra Singh Dhoni recently featured in an advertisement with TVS Motors along with popular movie director from South Prabhu Deva. Mostly known as ‘Mahi’, this ad shows Dhoni and the well-known dancer Prabhu Deva  praising a motorcycle by TVS motors on the auspicious occasion of Pongal. Mahendra Singh Dhoni can be seen wearing Dhoti and we are sure it is quite a unique ‘dhoti-look’ with spiky hair cut and Dhoni trying the Tamil accent is the most creative thing that can be spotted in this advertisement.

To make things more interesting, TVS even came up with all behind the scenes action to show that how it is actually done and where did the idea came from. Arun Siddharth, GM for Marketing, TVS claimed that the showcases company’s best seller’s upgraded variant TVS Star City Plus. The bike is shown in white color with some golden mini-stripes on it. The idea popped up after the success of TVS Star city and its 8 years in the market. The bike has been a part of more than 4 million households.

The whole idea of taking Dhoni as the face of this TVC was to give an ideal face to the name this bike carries, ‘STAR’. Creative director of the advertising company said, Dhoni is the perfect name to connect the whole idea of launching this new bike in the market. Call it his fan following or his recognition as the youth icon, Dhoni is a star of today and he totally depicts the name of this machine.
