New era of Bajaj scooters to take place in India soon

Bajaj Auto, a leading two-wheeler maker in the Indian market, is mulling over the option of launching its trade-mark scooters in the Indian market again. According to a statement given by company's chairman, the company is on the verge of rolling-out its scooters in India again. He added that once the strength of company's motorcycles is stabilized it will look for possibilities of launching its Scooters in the country.

He further elaborated that the dream of getting the global market must be realized before anything on the scooter materialized. According to him, the company is stressing on the need to acquire great market by reputation arrived at on the brand concept rather on the product ranges and to achieve this the company is ready to sacrifice anything, even if it is winding of scooters a few years back.

Bajaj is currently second largest bike maker in the India market following Hero Honda. The company is aiming to achieve as much as 30 to 40 percent market share globally from existing 10 percent. The company currently sales some of the most popular bikes in the Indian market including Bajaj Pulsar, Bajaj Discover and Bajaj Platina. 

 
Moreover, the company is also in the process of developing an ultra low cost car for the Indian market by the end of year 2012 in partnership with Nissan-Renault JV in India. The car is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 1.5 to 2 lakh along with an exceptional fuel economy of as high as 30 km/l.
