The new Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS has been spotted at a dealership in Bengaluru. And as per our sources, Mahindra could launch the new motorcycle by the first week of August. Earlier, the bike was available in two variants, the UT 300 and the XT 300. Now though, both the variants have been discontinued and will be replaced by just a single model, the Mojo 300 ABS.
In terms of looks, the new Mojo 300 ABS features the same design language as the now-discontinued variants. So, it continues to sport the unique headlamp and a muscular stance. The semi-digital instrument cluster also remains the same as the previous-gen motorcycles. We would’ve liked to see a digital instrument cluster and LED headlamps though. Currently, the motorcycle is available in just a single black paint option, but according to our sources, Mahindra will soon launch the blue colour option as well.
The motorcycle will get the same 300cc engine of the previous model, but our sources have informed that it will get fuel injection to make it BS6-ready. Also, according to our sources, this motor will have the same power output as the XT 300 variant - 27PS and 30Nm - which is 4PS and 5Nm more than the UT 300. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 6-speed gearbox. While the earlier variants featured J.Juan calipers front and rear, the new variant will get ByBre units and dual-channel ABS as standard.
The conventional suspension setup on the Mojo 300 ABS remains similar to that of the UT 300 in order to keep the prices competitive. The single-sided exhaust is also the same as the UT 300. While the XT 300 used to run on Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres and the UT 300 featured MRF rubber, the new variant sports Pirelli Angel CT for better grip on the road.
Mahindra has not confirmed the price yet, but as per our dealer sources, the upcoming Mojo 300 ABS could be priced at Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price, it will go up against the 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 (Rs 1.74 lakh) and the standard Jawa (Rs 1.64 lakh) (both prices ex-showroom Delhi).
