Mahindra Mojo, the 300cc performance bike from Mahindra 2-Wheelers, which was announced back in 2010 and was said to be launching in early 2011, hasn't made to the stores till now. And when we started thinking the product might be scrapped, Mahindra recently announce to launch the bike by early 2014. However, by the time the current design of the bike will be irrelevant and old, while all the competition including Kawasaki Ninja 300, Honda CBR250R and KTM Duke 390 have modern designs. Now, there are reports coming in about Mahindra's plans of revamping the bike completely. Autocar India recently reported that the new Mojo will sport a revised fuel-tank, and sporty fairing panels.
However, the Mojo is expected to use the same four-stroke, 292cc, fuel-injected and single-cylinder engine, which was announced in 2010. This engine deploy dual-overhead camshafts and the liquid-cooled mechanism and it will generate a maximum power output around 25.8bhp, with peak torque of about 25 Nm. The other details include upside down front forks and a monoshock rear suspension and 320mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brake. So, if Mahindra revamps it, we are hoping it to come up with something sporty and exciting, which can compete with the likes of Ninja 300 and Duke 390. The other thing, which will be important is the price, so Mahindra has to price this bike aggressively, at least somewhere around Rs. 1.75 lakh.
