Three new variants, each one better equipped than the next
Last week, TVS announced that its electric offering, the iQube, will now feature three variants instead of the sole one as before. These new and improved variants not only offer an upgrade over the outgoing model, but even their feature list is now more comprehensive than before. Hence, here are six photos to help you better understand the new features available across the three new iQube variants.
1- Variants
TVS now offers the iQube in three variants - iQube (standard), iQube S and top-of-the-line iQube ST. While the design of the iQube itself remains unchanged, it now gets 11 colours across the three variants.
2- Battery
The biggest change in the new iQube is the power source. Upgrading from the old 2.25kWh battery pack, the standard and S variants now feature a larger 3.04kWh unit, whereas the top-spec ST variant gets a large 4.56kWh. This has not only increased the weight of the scooters by a bit but also contributed to their overall range. The standard and S variants weigh 117.2 and 118.8 kg respectively, while the ST model weighs 128kg.
3- Range
The new batteries have given the iQube a solid bump in range. If you commute in economy, the iQube and iQube S will offer a respectable triple-digit real-world range. The ST on the other hand boasts a solid 145km in eco-mode. Claimed 0-40kmph acceleration numbers for all three variants are the same at 4.2 seconds. However, the 3kW motor with 4.4kW of peak power now offers 78 kmph top speed in the standard and S variant, whereas the ST offers a top speed of 82 kmph.
4-Charging
Yes, bigger batteries mean more range but they also mean longer charging times. Hence, to address the issue, TVS now offers a faster 650W charger as standard with the iQube and iQube S, while the iQube ST will get the 950W charger as standard. Owners of the standard and S variant can buy the 950W charger as an extra, and ST owners can get a bigger 1,500W unit for a bit more money.
5- Features
The standard and the S variants get a revised user interface (UI) on the 5-inch TFT screen. The ST model will get a larger 7-inch TFT screen that will also be a touchscreen unit. The S and ST variants even feature a five-way joystick above the indicator switch to navigate through the infotainment system on your iQube.

6- Underseat storage
TVS has designed the iQube to be a practical scooter, one that offers as much utility as its petrol-powered siblings. That said, a massive 32-litre under seat storage is almost unheard of in conventional scooters. The standard variant gets a modest 17-litre compartment, whereas the S and ST variants get the massive 32-litre pits.
While we feel that the design of the iQube could have been less conservative, these new features make it a stronger contender in the e-scooter space than ever before. A standard TVS iQube will cost you Rs 98,564, and the S variant Rs 1,08,690 (on-road Delhi, including FAME II and state subsidy). Prices for the iQube ST variant are yet to be disclosed, but you can book one for Rs 999. The iQube goes up against the Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, Bajaj Chetak and the Simple One. Which one is your pick?
