Domestic two-wheeler sales with the exception of Suzuki continue to see a slump
- Suzuki posts a 13.6 percent growth figure compared to November 2018.
- TVS seems to be the highest loser, having sold 30 percent fewer 2-wheelers compared to November 2018.
- Bajaj set a milestone by registering its highest ever export sales.
The month of November continues to see a decline in two-wheeler sales, with automakers like Royal Enfield, Bajaj and TVS selling fewer bikes than they did in November last year. Suzuki, however, managed to sell more two wheelers than November last year. The growth has been fuelled majorly by its scooter sales, which has witnessed steady growth since April 2019. In fact, Suzuki has sold more scooters than Hero MotoCorp in the first half of 2019. A part of the positive sales is also due to Suzuki offering interesting offers during the festive season. These offers included low downpayment and cashback of upto Rs 8,000.
TVS has witnessed the highest drop in sales this month. According to the company, this is partly due to it gearing up for the upcoming BS6 emission norms and adjusting the production of its BS4 production accordingly.

Despite having sold fewer bikes than last year, Bajaj did manage to create a milestone for itself. It exported 1,67,109 units this month, its highest ever. It has seen strong growth in exports volume in African countries.
Royal Enfield has not done well in the domestic sales front but has managed to export more motorcycles than last year. It exported 2,119 units this month, which compared to to the 718 units sold in November 2019, can be chalked up as a sales growth of 195 percent.
