Revolt has stirred the Indian electric two-wheeler segment with its RV400 and RV300. Both the electric motorcycles promise a range of around 150km at a unique price tag of Rs 3,499 and Rs 2,999 (per month). Now, Gurugram-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Okinawa is planning to enter this segment with a premium electric motorcycle, which will rival the RV400.

As of now, the upcoming electric motorcycle is still in its pre-production stage and the company hasn’t revealed much. However, Okinawa has announced that its electric motorcycle will be priced below Rs 1 lakh and will have a range of 150km and a top speed of 100kmph. While the specs of Okinawa’s upcoming offering might be similar to that of the Revolt RV400, it is not yet known if it will come equipped with the same set of features like the RV400.

Okinawa currently has eight electric scooters, including the newly launched PraisePro, in its portfolio ranging from Rs 40,000 to Rs 1.16 lakh (ex-showroom). So, expect the upcoming electric motorcycle to be placed below the I-Praise range, the top-end model in its lineup.

The manufacturer sold a whopping 45,000 units in the previous financial year and is aiming to increase that number to 75,000-90,000. Considering that the company was launched in India in 2017 and only sells electric two-wheelers, these numbers are quite impressive.

There’s no word from the company on its official launch, but we expect the manufacturer to launch its first electric motorcycle in the first half of 2020.
