The company aims to offer e-motorcycles in budget and premium segments
Ola Electric is on a roll. Over the past three months, the marque has launched two iterations of its S1 electric scooter: the standard S1 in August, followed by the S1 Air only a few days ago.
Well, Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola’s Founder, doesn't intend to break this momentum and has announced that the company will make its entry into the electric motorcycle market as well.
This would make the Bengaluru-based company a full-fledged electric vehicle maker, as it also continues development of its electric four-wheeler. Bhavish has stated that Ola intends to make its presence felt in the mass, mid and premium motorcycle categories.
The electric motorcycle segment in India has not quite picked up as rapidly as the electric scooter space that is witnessing wildfire-like popularity. The details of the upcoming Ola Electric motorcycle will be revealed by Holi 2023.

While this gives us little on what Ola’s first electric bike could look like, it definitely provides us the understanding that the company is looking to diversify and introduce multiple electric offerings, all at the same time.
Developing electric vehicles from the ground up is quite an intense task, and given Ola’s aggressive timelines, it is going to prove to be a Herculean feat to pull off.
