The launch of the most affordable Chetak 2901 and the expansion of Bajaj dealerships all over India are the key factors that have helped the Chetak line-up to achieve this success

Quick Highlights

  • In July, Bajaj Chetak electric scooter crossed over 20,000 bookings

  • Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is available across around 2000 outlets in India

  • Bajaj Chetak 2901 is the cheapest variant in the Chetak’s line-up

Bajaj Auto launched the Chetak electric scooter, paying homage to their OG Chetak scooter in a modern electric-powered avatar. In July, the booking numbers crossed 20,000 marking a success for the electric scooter. These impressive numbers were achieved due to two major factors:

Launch of the Bajaj Chetak 2901

Why is this variant important in the success, you ask? The Bajaj Chetak 2901 is the cheapest variant in the Chetak’s line-up, priced at Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom Bangalore). This price tag makes the Chetak electric scooter even more accessible to those looking to purchase an electric scooter. This variant gets a 2.88kWh battery pack giving an ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) claimed range of 123km. It is available in 5 colours: Azure Blue, Ebony Black Met, Racing Red, Lime Yellow and Cyber White.

In terms of tech, the scooter includes an LCD instrument console and an Economy riding mode. For an additional Rs 3,000, you can unlock more features in the TecPac. It includes a Sports mode, smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth for calls/SMS alerts, music control, hill hold assist, reverse mode and ‘Follow Me Home’ lights.

Expansion of Chetak Experience Centers and Bajaj dealerships across India

The Bajaj Chetak is available across around 2000 outlets across India. With the launch of the more affordable Bajaj Chetak 2901 variant, Chetak Experience Centers and Bajaj Dealerships were scaled up in smaller towns to reach new markets and increase their customer base.
