Piaggio Discontinues LX, VX and S Models from its Vespa Range

Few days after the launch of two premium scooters by Vespa, the company now decides to retire its three existing players - Vespa LX, Vespa VX and Vespa S.  The official website of Piaggio Vespa scooters is not showing these three models now, which indicates that the Italian manufacturer has halted their further production. With the introduction of new models, there was a healthy chance that the older models might have gotten fade away due to comparatively lesser features. Piaggio was well aware of this and hence, decided to take the step. 

Two years back, Vespa LX 125 was the most pricey scooter to be sold in India. The title was later taken by its elder sibling, Vespa VX 125 that used to came with a front disc brake. Vespa S was introduced after that and the most expensive scooter tag was transferred to it. 

Exactly, a week back on September 1, the company launched its two exotic scooters - Vespa VXL and Vespa LXL in two engine options viz. 125cc and 150cc. These arrived with wider tubeless tyres, new enchanting colour schemes and a futuristic instrument console.

After the removal of Vespa LX, VX and S from the product line-up, Vespa VXL now becomes the most affordable scooter by the manufacturer that comes with a price tag of Rs. 77,308 (ex-showroom, Pune). To facilitate the sales of its new models, Piaggio took the bold step that might bring good results to its overall sales report.
