Piaggio India launches new Vespa VX 125 for Rs. 71380

Piaggio has today finally launched a new lifestyle variant of its flagship scooter Vespa called the VX 125 in Delhi. The similar variant was unveiled by the company some days back, however the launch has taken place today in the presence of young Bollywood heartthrobs Vanya Mitra and Siddharth Malhotra.
Priced at Rs 71,380 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the VX 125 becomes the most expensive variant of the lot, so its target group will be urban young buyers. This all new variant is a more premium version of the Vespa scooter, which has new two new colour options- Vibrant Rosa and Mettalic Green and a few other additions.
It now gets an upgraded speedometer, longer pillion grab handle, MRF Zapper tubeless tyres, beige colour seat cover and a 200mm front disc brake. Mechanically, the scooter remains the same.
It continues to derive its power from a 125cc, four-stroke, 3-valve, single cylinder engine, which delivers 10PS power and 10.06Nm of peak torque. The power is transmitted to the rear wheel via the same automatic CVT transmission, used in regular Vespa variants. The steel monocoque, single sided suspension systems too remain the sam.
Three spoke alloy wheels further enhances its richness. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ravi Chopra, Chairman and Managing Director, Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (India) said, “Piaggio is delighted to present Vespa VX to cater to a surging demand amongst the discerning Indian consumer. We hope to further strengthen the premium segment with the Vespa VX, offering the Indian youth that lifestyle stature they wish to be associated with.
The new features not only offer a better riding experience, it brings the aspirational Indian a step closer to the Vespa Universe.” Furthermore he added, “Starting today, after the success of the first phase in the Vespa launch with a single model just over a year ago, Piaggio is now moving into the second phase for the expansion of the product range.”
