The Italian auto major Piaggio has unveiled the New Vespa Primavera at 2013 EICMA at Milan, Italy. The new edition has been christened after the legendary scooter launched in 1968, not only the name, the new Primavera also took inspiration in terms of design and styling from the vintage scooter. The new Primavera will replace the existing LX and VX line-up globally including India. The legendary Vespa Primevera is known for its brilliant performance, simplicity and joy in the guide. All these qualities make the scooter one of the longest running and most popular models in the history of Vespa. Primavera was a true "status symbol" for the riders and enjoyed equally by boys and girls.

The core designing has been kept similar to the LX series, but there are a few minor cosmetic changes inspired by the earlier Primavera, which makes it look more classic. The new scooter features new five spoke alloy wheels, new front suspension, which make it more agile. The new Primavera will be driven by a range of modern, fuel efficient and ecological engines, including 50cc 2T, 4T 50cc, 125cc and 150cc 3V using new electronic injection system for low emissions. Front disk disc brake will be standard in the scooter.

Currently, Piaggio is selling two of its Vespa products in India namely the LX125 and a sportier version called VX125, the new Primavera scooters will also be launched in India by the end of the 2014.
