Benelli’s sister company takes the battle to the Kawasaki Z650
QJMotor has pulled the wraps off the Chase 700 at the 2021 Beijing Motor Show. The unveiling comes on the back of the debut of the Chase 600 and Chase 350 this month. Interestingly, unlike other bikes from the QJMotor lineup, this one doesn’t borrow its engine from a Benelli.
The QJMotor Chase 700 uses a 693cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 76PS at 8750rpm and 68.2Nm at 6250rpm. Though these figures are similar to the Benelli 752S, this seems like a completely different engine likely borrowed from another Chinese company, Chunfeng. Interestingly, this brand’s engine is also seen on the CFMoto CL-X 700.
Like most Chinese motorcycles, the QJMotor Chase 700 comes with impressive hardware. The bike is equipped with an adjustable KYB USD fork and a monoshock, likely borrowed from the QJ SRK 600. Dropping the anchor are twin 320mm discs up front paired with Brembo’s 4-pot calipers and a single 260mm disc at the rear.

The Chase 700 draws its design cues from the QJ350-13. In fact, the swooping LED headlight almost reminds us of the Kawasaki Z800. Other bits like the LCD instrument console, LED indicators, and mirrors are shared with the SRK600.
The QJMotor Chase 700 will not debut in India, and will arrive in Europe only after China. It competes with the CFMoto CL-X 700, Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki Z650, and Benelli 752 S.
