This edition will be the last batch of Classic 500s to go on sale in these countries
Royal Enfield has launched the Classic 500 Tribute Black Edition in Australia and New Zealand, in what is the final send off for the iconic thumper. Only 200 units of the Classic 500 Tribute Black will reach Australia while New Zealand will receive just 40, making it rather exclusive.
The Indian giant had pulled off a similar move in India too. Back in 2020, Royal Enfield had made the Tribute Black edition available to us online for a limited time before pulling the plug on the bike.

Coming to the bike, the limited edition is wrapped in a glossy black paint scheme, topped off by golden pinstripes and rim stickers. Adding to its ‘special’ feel is a serial numbered plaque, Royal Enfield touring mirrors, and a touring seat -- usually sold as an accessory but standard on the Tribute Black edition.
Apart from the paint job, the Classic 500 remains mostly unchanged. It continues to employ a 499cc single-cylinder motor, putting out 27.6PS and 41.3Nm. Unlike the usual chrome, the mechanicals get a blacked-out finish.
The RE Classic 500 Tribute Black is priced at Rs 5.39 lakh in Australia (converted from AUD) and Rs 5.05 lakh in New Zealand, almost three times the Classic 500’s last known retail price in our country.
