Only 120 units were allotted for India and they were sold out in under 120 seconds
Just a few days ago, Royal Enfield revealed the prices of the Special Editions of the 650 twins. The sales portal opened yesterday at 7pm, and the 120 units allotted for India were sold out in all of, well, 120 seconds!
Prices were set to Rs 4.50 lakh and Rs 4.80 lakh (both, on-road Chennai) for the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 Anniversary editions, respectively. Compared to the standard colour options, the special editions demanded a premium of over Rs 1 lakh.

For such a high premium, you get extended warranty, and cosmetic plus accessory upgrades. Mechanically, however, the special editions are identical to the standard models. Both are powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin air-cooled motor, and they also get the same underpinnings.
However, if you couldn’t buy one of these, fret not. Royal Enfield offers quite a few standard paint options to choose from for the 650 twins. In fact, the Interceptor 650 is available in as many as seven paint schemes, while the Continental GT 650 is offered in five.
