This custom Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 fits the Scrambler category perfectly. It looks like a proper scrambler – one that isn’t shy to tear through dirt and take off into uncharted lands. Royal Enfield bikes have been a good canvas to bring some of the most mind-blowing imaginations to life. One such bike build comes from the custom house called STG Tracker located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This build was done for one of their clients who wanted a timeless classic bike but was powerful and ready to take it offroad. From afar, the bike looks like it gets only aesthetic upgrades, but come closer and you’ll discover a completely different story. Now let’s unscramble this scrambler..
This modified Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 strikes a good balance between form and functionality. Aesthetically the bike gets minimal changes like a new 3-tone paint scheme that looks really attractive along with the blacked-out engine case for a more subtle finish. The bike gets custom-made aluminium raised fenders on both ends.
Talking about functionality, the bike now sports an all-LED light setup along with added spotlights mounted on the engine guards for better illumination, on and off the road. Its headlight gets a grill-style guard to protect it from damage while riding offroad. The bike gets a wide tapered handlebar with risers for a more upright aggressive seating position. The underbelly of the bike is fitted with a custom-made bash plate for protection.
The stock 18-inch spoke wheels have been replaced with bigger 19-inch front and 17-inch rear aluminium rims wrapped with dual-sport tyres to ride the bike on both road and off-road. The bigger wheel setup is suspended on a fork from the KTM 390 Adventure with the internals upgraded to manage the heavy weight of the bike. These changes have resulted in an increased seat height and ground clearance.
The bike is also fitted with a quilted leather seat, and aftermarket levers, while the footpegs, front sprocket cover, and radiator cover are from the custom house’s catalogue. The swingarm has also been replaced with the one from the KTM 390 Adventure. It has been shortened to maintain the stock bike’s wheelbase along with custom mounts for the rear suspension.
Now coming to the more serious performance upgrades, the bike gets a big-bore kit for the engine, which increases its capacity to 865cc! The kit includes a new camshaft, a new clutch, and a K&N high-flow air filter. It also gets a two-into-one stainless steel exhaust system with a growling SC-Project muffler. The bike is re-tuned to make all the parts fit together in harmony. All that power means the bike’s brake department would need an upgrade too. Its brakes are the same as the ones on the KTM 390 Adventure.
Considering that the bike is designed for journeys far from the nearest petrol station, there’s a 5-litre petrol can mounted on the luggage rack. This rack can also accommodate a pannier or a toolkit, ensuring you're well-prepared for any adventure. And when you fire up the engine, you can almost hear "Gonna Fly Now" from Rocky playing in the background, setting the perfect tone for your ride.
