Here are some detailed shots to give you an idea of what Royal Enfield's latest cruiser is all about
After months of speculation and waiting, Royal Enfield has finally launched the Meteor 350 in India. This bike utilises the company’s new J platform and replaces the Thunderbird 350. Here’s a closer look at the cruiser in the form of detailed images.
The Meteor 350’s styling has definitely evolved, but the slightly tall front-end, round headlamps, pear-shaped tank, and low seat height are very much similar to the Thunderbird 350X.
The bike is available in three variants-- Fireball, Stellar and Supernova, with the top-end version receiving chrome treatment, larger flyscreen, premium seats, cushioned backrest and a dual-tone paintjob.
The Meteor 350 uses a new double downtube split cradle frame.
The Meteor 350 gets an all-new air-cooled, single-cylinder 349cc engine that develops 20.4PS and 27Nm. The engine no longer uses a primary chain drive or pushrods, which has resulted in a more refined engine.
The instrument console is a semi-digital unit, with a large speedometer and an inset digital display that shows fuel indicator, gear position indicator, Eco mode along with trip and odometer reading. The Meteor 350 is the first Royal Enfield product to roll out with turn-by-turn navigation. Called Tripper, the secondary display pod pairs with your phone to show minimalist navigation instructions and time.
Royal Enfield has noticeably improved the quality and the fit and finish on the bike. Everything, from the switchgear to the dual paint feels and looks premium.
The bike uses a 300mm disc at the front and a 270mm disc at the rear, aided by dual-channel ABS.
The new 6-step adjustable twin shocks and 41mm telescopic suspension handle the suspension duties.
The low 765mm seat height makes the bike accessible to riders of all sizes and Royal Enfield is also offering a low seat option that drops down the height by 20mm.
The pricing for the Meteor starts at Rs 1.75 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai). The bike takes on the likes of the newly launched Honda H’Ness CB350, Jawa Perak, and even the Bajaj Dominar 400.
