Royal Enfield has been ever-present in the news headlines for a week now, starting with the Guerrilla 450’s launch last week. And now, the upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650’s design patent has been revealed.
In the design patent, we can see that the bike’s overall design is similar to that of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Differentiating elements from the roadster include a quilted seat, oval-shaped side panels, LED indicators, two-in-one exhaust setup and an inverted fork. It gets a raised and braced handlebar. Like the recently launched Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, the upcoming Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 is expected to be available in two variants. The top-end variant will likely get the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450’s round, TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps navigation. The base variant is expected to come equipped with the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650’s semi-digital instrument console. Also, the scrambler will likely get a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels setup.
Powering the bike will be the same air-/oil-cooled 648cc parallel twin engine found in the Interceptor 650, Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and the Super Meteor 650. Braking duties will be taken care of by disc brakes at both ends. It is likely to get chunky dual-purpose tyres, based on what we spotted in previous spy shots.
The upcoming Scrambler 650 is expected to be launched at Motoverse 2024 (November 22 - 24, 2024). It will likely be priced between Rs 3.4 lakh - Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Its direct rival will be the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½.
