The torquey 650cc parallel-twin engine should make this a joy to scramble on
The Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 has been spied again, this time abroad. The last time it was seen abroad was in September 2022. This time around, though, the bike’s seen with LED indicators for the first time. The headlight, meanwhile, is the one we’ve seen on the Super Meteor 650. Check that out here. Adding an extra layer of premiumness are the adjustable levers and chromed-out taillight which looks quite stylish.
There’s also a box seen on the test mule but it’s likely some sort of testing apparatus and not a top box. That said, it’s likely that it’ll get a bunch of touring-friendly accessories, as is the case with most Royal Enfield bikes.
Powering it will be Royal Enfield’s famed air-/oil-cooled 648cc parallel twin that should make the same 47.65PS and 52Nm, the same as RE’s 650cc trio. The two-in-one exhaust, though, should ideally result in considerable weight reduction. The upside-down fork seems to be different from the ones on the Super Meteor 650 and the upcoming Shotgun 650, and it could be set up differently to suit the Scrambler’s nature. The twin shocks, meanwhile, aren’t gas-charged ones as found on the Interceptor 650.
In terms of features, it gets a monopod console and you can have a closer look at it here. Alongside that, it could also get a tripper navigation pod as an accessory. On the whole the Scrambler looks quite rugged and previous spy shots have shown that it’ll get a bunch of scrambler elements like a ribbed seat, raised handlebar and oval side panels. We also have an idea as to what this upcoming Scrambler could be called. Check that out here.
We expect the bike to be launched in India sometime around April 2024 at an ex-showroom price of around Rs 3.5 lakh. But what’s arriving to our shores in less than a month is the 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350. And if you’re an OG fanboy of the thumper, here’s why the upcoming Royal Enfield bike might excite you even more.
