Royal Enfield’s fourth 650cc twin looks production-ready
Update: Royal Enfield has just unveiled the Production Spec Shotgun 650. Check it out here!
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 has been spotted testing once again on the city streets somewhere in Tamil Nadu, and it still looks just as production-ready as it did when it was spotted testing just a few weeks ago. Moreover, while bobbers are single-seaters, this one had a pillion seat as well, which means the final product will have one as an option too.
To recap, the Shotgun 650 is the fourth offering from Royal Enfield based on the same 650cc platform as the Super Meteor 650, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, and will likely make an identical 47.6PS and 52Nm. Besides, though it sports the same underpinnings and suspension (USD fork, twin rear shocks) as the Super Meteor 650, its mid-set footpegs and flat handlebar give it a more forward-biased riding posture.
Speaking of launch details, however, we don’t expect the Shotgun before October 2023, primarily because Royal Enfield may launch the Himalayan 450 by July-August 2023, as it too has been spotted testing multiple times. Or they could flip the script, launching the Shotgun first, and the HImalayan later. Either way, stay tuned!
