Inaugurates the ‘Tornadoes Wall’, a memorial celebrating the Army's 'Tornadoes' motorcycle display team

Commemorating its 70-year-long association (since 1952) with the Indian Armed Forces, Royal Enfield has inaugurated the Tornadoes Wall, a memorial sculpture in the centre of Bengaluru. For the uninitiated, the Army's 'Tornadoes' motorcycle display team members are the daredevils that we see on TV, performing gravity defying stunts at every Republic Day parade. The unit belongs to The Army Service Corps (ASC) which has its Regimental Centre in Bengaluru.

On the 7th of May this year, Lt Gen MKS Yadav, SM, DGST; and Jayapradeep V, Head-Business Markets, India+, Royal Enfield, inaugurated the memorial. Tejender Singh Baoni, the monument’s sculptor, envisioned this piece as a homage to the men and women of the Indian Army and their unrelenting service to our nation. There is a coffee table book as well, one that showcases the Tornadoes’ accomplishments over the years. Fun fact, as a team, the Tornadoes performed its first stunt back in 1967 on the iconic Bullet 350, and Royal Enfield continues to be the team’s motorcycle of choice even today!

If you wish to show your support for the Indian Army, especially the brave riders of the Tornadoes, RE has also launched a new Tornadoes line of merchandise that you can now buy. This limited-edition range has protective gear, t-shirts, hoodies, shirts, jackets, mugs, and more. These will be available across mediums including but not limited to Royal Enfield’s online store, showrooms, Central and Globus stores, and Shoppers Stop.
