The Mumbai leg of Suzuki Gixxer Day saw the sterling performance of two-time European stunt champion Aras Gibieza and the presence of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
Mumbai hosted the Suzuki Gixxer Day tour last Sunday where Bollywood superstar Salman Khan made his presence felt as the guest of honour. On the other hand, two-time European stunt champion Aras Gibieza wowed the crowd with his freestyle motorcycle stunt performance on the new Suzuki GSX-S1000. The Mumbai leg of the Suzuki Gixxer Day event is a part of the Japanese bike manufacturer’s 9-city nationwide tour. Kickstarted in Delhi on April 15, the Suzuki Gixxer Day tour culminated on May 15 in Pune, covering Kolkata, Shillong, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore and Mumbai.
Earlier, Aras has performed in India at Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Pune, Mangalore, Coimbatore, Kochi, Shillong, Guwahati, Kolkata and Hyderabad as a part of his India Bike Week (IBW) tour last year. Salman, a biker at heart, owns three Suzuki superbikes - the Hayabusa, Intruder M1800 RZ and the GSX-R1000Z. He also couldn’t resist the allure and joined the fun on a Suzuki Gixxer SF later in the event.
The event was organised to celebrate the spirit of the 155cc Suzuki Gixxer in India, as a gathering of the owners of the bike. The tour also became a platform to showcase the new variant of the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF, which are equipped with disc brakes at the rear. This new feature provides better braking performance to the bikes so they can stand stronger against its direct rival - the Yamaha FZ series.
The rear disc brake variant of the Suzuki Gixxer comes with a price tag of Rs. 84,817 and it is available in the following colours: Lush Green / Glass Sparkle Black, Metallic Triton Blue / Pearl Mirage White and Candy Sonoma Red / Glass Sparkle Black. Meanwhile, the faired Gixxer SF has been priced at Rs. 92,806 for the Pearl Mirage Red and Glass Sparkle Black colour options, while the MotoGP Edition (Metallic Triton Blue) costs around Rs. 1,600 extra (all prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai).
