Gets a range of accessories that make it more menacing
Yamaha treated visitors at the 2023 Osaka Motorcycle Show to a rather nice surprise by unveiling a special edition MT-125. This Yamaha bike was fully kitted out with a range of accessories, which will soon be officially offered in the country.
This special edition MT-125 is draped in Yamaha Blue and sports a windshield that blends well with the bike’s sharp face. This is further accentuated by Yamaha Blue anodised adjustable brake and clutch levers. The crankcase too gets additional protection in the form of an aluminium cover. Further towards the rear, the stock number plate holder has been replaced with a tail tidy, which exponentially sharpens the rear profile of the bike.
However, the party piece of this special edition MT-125 is the full-system Akrapovic exhaust, with a carbon-fibre end can. Yamaha has also equipped this bike with a traction control system and TFT console. As yummy as this sounds, we think that this is a bit of an overkill on a 125cc motorcycle. We expect the international-spec Yamaha MT-15 to also get the same accessories seen on this bike, however it is unlikely that these accessories will make their way onto the Indian model.

The Yamaha MT-125 rivals the likes of the KTM 125 Duke, Kawasaki Z125, Honda CB125R and Suzuki GSX-S125 internationally. Yamaha already offers the MT-15 V2 in India, hence the MT-125 is unlikely to be launched here, making the KTM 125 Duke the only 125cc liquid-cooled bike in the country. Other sporty 125cc bikes are the TVS Raider, Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and Honda SP 125.
