It was the seventh day of strike at Bajaj Auto's Chakan plant. Last week, Bajaj Auto Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj gave time of 1 week to his team to sort out the problem. He also said that if the problem persists, they will shift the 50% production of their Chakan plant to their other production units at Aurangabad and Pantnagar. August 12 was given the deadline for this. Today Morning, Bajaj said that they will find out a solution very soon so they are extending the deadline to the August 16, 2013. But recently, wokers union at the plant decided to call off the strike and will resume work from tomorrow.

In the morning, Bajaj said,"However, the COO Pradeep Shrivastava has informed me that both sides are hopeful of arriving at a mutually acceptable solution in the next two days, and he has therefore requested me to accordingly extend the deadline". He further added,"the management can and will take all such steps as it deems necessary to protect its future business interests". The company asked Chakan plant workers,"not to suffer any further on account of what are entirely irrational demands, but to instead rejoin their duties at the earliest"; and said that their management will do all the necessary safety and convenience arrangements for their workers.

On the same day, they succeed to make an understanding with the union and the problem has been resolved completely. Currently, Bajaj is producing all of its export oriented bikes at the Chakan plant, which shows that they have suffered a big loss during the strike.
