The mule appears to be in the final stages of testing
Our team has spotted the Suzuki Burgman Electric test mule in Pune and from the looks of it, the Suzuki e-scooter seems to be in its final stages of testing, hinting at its imminent launch. While the intrinsic details are yet to be known, here’s what you could expect.
The Burgman e-scooter gets the same design as its ICE sibling, so expect it to be just as spacious. It’s likely to feature a frame-mounted motor and offer an approximate range of 70-80km. With that being said, a fast-charging system or a swappable battery would help curb range anxiety.

Feature-wise, LED lights all around as well as a fully digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity are likely to be carried over from its petrol counterpart.
While the Burgman Street is sprung on a telescopic fork and a single rear shock on the left side, the Burgman Electric gets the same front suspension but dual rear shocks. This may have been done primarily for battery placement and overall weight distribution.
Lastly, it seems to roll on the same 12-inch alloy wheels, featuring a tyre-hugger, as opposed to a conventional fender. It also retains the same braking hardware.
We expect Suzuki to launch the Burgman Electric in India by late-2021 or early-2022 at around Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It’ll compete against the Bajaj Chetak, Ather 450X, TVS iQube Electric, and a few more models in the EV space.
