The new setup seen in Suzuki scooters will make its way to the motorcycles soon
Suzuki has launched Bluetooth variants of the Access 125 and Burgman Street. The new connectivity feature will soon be available on its motorcycle range comprising the Gixxer, Gixxer SF and Intruder. Suzuki has said that it is in process of testing out the new system in its scooters and will soon roll out the new tech in its motorcycles as well. They haven't mentioned a timeline for the updates, but we expect to see them by early-2021.
The new Bluetooth connectivity feature is now available even on the Access 125 with a new digital instrument console which replaces the previous semi-digital unit. The updated consoles get a new interface with the right half showing the speedometer and the left half displaying turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts. It connects to your smartphone via the Suzuki Ride Connect app. Currently, this app is only available on the Android platform as Suzuki’s market research indicated that nearly 90 percent of its customers were Android users. The bikemaker is, however, developing an iOS app as well.
The Bluetooth-equipped variants of the scooter command a premium of up to Rs 3,800 over their regular counterparts. We expect the upcoming Bluetooth-equipped motorcycles to come with a similar price premium.
