The issue that led to the recall seems to be related to the engine camshaft in all 3 models
Suzuki has recalled all 3 models in its 250cc lineup: the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 and V-Strom SX. The issue that caused this recall is a problem with the engine camshaft.
All 3 models use the same 249cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, and abnormal wear has been reported on all. This is likely to be a result of improper heat treatment of parts during the manufacturing process, and could have affected specific production batches. The engines that are affected by this issue are expected to make abnormal noises and suffer from sudden stalling when on the move.
The company and its dealerships are currently working on identifying and recalling the bikes that were part of the affected production batches, with the affected parts being replaced free of cost. We had reached out to the manufacturer for their comment on this issue, but so far haven’t received any response.
