The new two-wheeler will be launched on May 20
- We expect the Gixxer 250 to be powered by a 250cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor.
- The India-spec Gixxer 250 is likely to be priced at Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Suzuki might also launch the 2019 updates of the Gixxer 150 and the SF.
Suzuki has teased a new two-wheeler, which is going to be launched on May 20. The image is not very helpful as you can only see what appears to be the headlight’s side profile. However, we expect this mysterious new two-wheeler to be the new Gixxer 250.
The international Gixxer 250 gets LED lights and a fully digital LCD instrument cluster. So, it’s highly likely that Suzuki will equip the India-bound Gixxer 250 with these features too. As of now, no mechanical details about the India-spec Gixxer 250 have been revealed yet. But, we expect the Indian variant to be powered by a 250cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor, which is likely to produce around 20-22 PS. In terms of suspension, the upcoming Gixxer 250 will mostly feature conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. As the new safety norms are already in motion, the India-bound Gixxer 250 should get dual-channel ABS as standard.
There’s no word on the price yet, but we expect the Gixxer 250 to be priced at around Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom). And at this price, the Gixxer 250 will go up against the Yamaha Fazer 25 (Rs 1.43 lakh) and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 (Rs 1.27 lakh).
There’s also some indication that Suzuki might launch the updated versions of the Gixxer 150 and Gixxer SF too. The Gixxer hasn’t seen a proper update since its launch back in 2014, so it’s high time Suzuki went about doing that.
Motorcycles apart, we believe that there could be a minute chance of Suzuki teasing us with a new Access 125, since it’s really impossible to discern anything from the image. We’ll have further updates as we get more information.
