Update: Suzuki unveiled its new range for 2016 at the Auto Expo today, which includes the updated Access 125 and the Gixxer Series. 2016 Suzuki Access is an all new model with more attractive styling and some improved features including an optional front disc brake. The 2016 Gixxer range also gets a rear disc brake as an option and its SF model gets an optional EFI system as well. Besides these upgraded products, Suzuki displayed the existing GSX-S1000 and other models of the fleet.
Manufacturing motorcycles since 1952, Suzuki has now become one of the largest bike manufacturers across the globe and is known for its high-end motorcycles. Suzuki Gixxer and GixxerSF proved to be a game changer for the company in India as these bikes have gained popularity among the masses. With the 2016 Auto Expo round the corner, all automakers including Suzuki are gearing up to showcase their models at the event. Suzuki is coming to the show with some of its best offerings including their flagship 1000cc models, Scrambler and recently spied Gixxer 250.
1. Suzuki Gixxer 250
Few days ago, a motorcycle was spied which resembled Gixxer and was speculated to be Suzuki Gixxer 250. Reports suggest that this bike will be unveiled at the Auto Expo and is expected to launch in India at the event or sometime soon after that. The upcoming Gixxer will be powered by a quarter-litre, air-cooled engine that will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This mill is expected to produce around 26 to 28bhp with a torque of 23 to 25Nm. It will borrow the tyre setup and looks from the 155cc Gixxer SF and will feature disc brakes on both wheels along with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). As far as styling is concerned, the company has given it a bigger and sharper headlamp design along with a reworked fuel tank. When launched in India, it will compete with Honda CBR 250R.
2. Suzuki Scrambler SV650
Suzuki is back in the Scrambler business with its SV650 arriving at the 2016 Auto Expo. Before it came back updated at the 2015 EICMA, the bike was discontinued in 2012. This Scrambler may be launched in India with the new and more powerful 650cc, V-Twin engine. This mill generates 75bhp of power at 8,500rpm and a torque of 64Nm at 8,100rpm. The machine also features a Nissin ABS system for better control and it runs on alloy wheels, unlike other Scramblers in the industry.
