The spotlight of end-of-week news headlines is poised to shine on Royal Enfield's immediate upcoming launch, the 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350. Yet, preceding that, there's more news to share about the imminent Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Once again, it has been sighted, this time inside a dealer yard.
The upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycle exudes a polished and production-ready appearance. The images captured reveal several distinct features: a beak-like fender, sleek body panels, a compact exhaust, and a split-seat arrangement, among others. While the disc rotor design appears similar to the present Himalayan model, expectations are towards improved braking performance in the upcoming Himalayan 450, possibly employing a larger rotor and sintered brake pads. An additional noteworthy observation is the curved radiator to enhance cooling efficiency.

Also prominent in the pictures are the Ceat block-pattern tires with a distinctive tread pattern, likely custom-made for this particular motorcycle. Also drawing attention is a small, yet significant detail: a forward-facing red button on the right-hand side of the handlebar. This might serve as a switch for the ABS, which will be particularly beneficial for off-road riding. Conversely, the forward-facing button situated on the left-hand side switchgear probably facilitates navigation through the console's menu, potentially incorporating turn-by-turn navigation. Also captured in these photographs is the circular TFT instrument cluster, previously spied a couple of months back. Notably, the images also reveal oil lines leading into the inverted fork.
We will get to ride the Himalayan 450 for the first time towards the latter part of October 2023 in Manali. The exhaust note resonates with a robust tone, notably distinct from the relaxed nature of the existing Royal Enfield Himalayan model. Check it out here. Setting it apart, the upcoming bike will feature a trellis frame making it the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to get one. Additionally, it is set to get an array of touring accessories, which we saw for the first time when it was spied earlier this month. The manufacturer has even offered a glimpse through a teaser, which you can check out here.
Powering the Himalayan 450 will be a 450cc liquid-cooled engine, another first for the manufacturer. The intended launch is projected to coincide with this year's Rider Mania event, slated for November 24-26. A price tag of approximately Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom) is expected and its rivals will be the spoke wheel variant of the KTM 390 Adventure and the forthcoming Hero XPulse 400.
