The Italian versatile two-wheeler manufacturer Aprilia will be entering India soon, posing a challenge for KTM. There is a possibility of low capacity Aprilia 125S or 200S to be soon in India whereas its other current variants are being sold in India as CBU from Piaggio commercial vehicle dealerships. These dealerships have displayed bikes like Aprili RSV4 which is the world superbike champion and Mana 850 GT. There are about eight versions of the four bikes which Aprilia has offered in India. These are RSV4, Tuono V4, Dordoduro 1200 and Mana 850 GT. Tuono V4 is the raw version of RSV4.

Aprilia RSV4

Talking about the RSV4, the technology of the bike is meant to rule the road with a bike which dominates in the world of racing. The looks of the bike are very provoking because of its razor sharp lines, aerodynamics and the compact size of the bike integrated with a 1000 cc engine. The first technical feature in the bike is different types of tyre adjustments with eight settings which can be conveniently selected from a joystick on the left handle bar. It also includes the wheelie control and launch control for track use with three settings.

The reason of the bike to be so popular in the racing world is its engine. The Aprilia 65° V4 engine has a capacity of 999.6 cc with a monobloc crankcase which is integrated with liners. The fuel system has electronic injection with two injectors per cylinder. The compression ratio of the engine is 13:1 and it has a six speed direct control cassette type gearbox. The bike has multiple wet clutch with mechanical slipper system. The engine consists of 4 valves per cylinder with titanium and nymonic in them. It also has anti-vibration counter shafts.
