It can achieve a top speed of 125kmph!
Spanish EV manufacturer Ray has unleashed a beast of an electric scooter called the 7.7 in the European market. It is unlike any other electric scooter and packs insane performance, and great features along with a futuristic design.
In terms of appearance, the Ray 7.7 gets a very minimalist and simple body design with futuristic styling elements. The front apron protrudes ahead quite a bit, almost resembling a nose, with LED headlights at its tip. It gets an unconventional-looking edgy split seat that is also adjustable for height.
Now to the most mesmerising part about this e-scooter, the motor and performance. It gets a 10.7kW electric motor which is capable of a peak output of 17.5kW and 60Nm of torque. The e-scooter can go as fast as 125kmph, which by scooter standards, is fast.
What’s more fascinating is that its 7.7kWh battery pack claims a range of 110km at a constant speed of 100kmph, which has to be one of the highest claimed range at high speeds for an electric two-wheeler. The e-scooter can achieve a claimed range of up to 160km when the speed is restricted to 50kmph.

Underpinnings include a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. Braking is taken care of via discs at both ends with axially mounted dual piston calipers up front and a single-piston caliper at the rear. With this level of performance, this e-scooter should have been equipped with ABS, but it makes do with just a combined braking system (CBS).
The features list on the Ray 7.7 is long and includes a 5-inch multi-colour TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn GPS navigation. Other features include three ride modes: City, Sport, and Flow, and it also gets a reverse mode. For added convenience, the scooter comes with all-LED lighting, a USB charging port, an anti-theft alarm, and a cavernous under-seat storage with LED lights.
All these features and power-packed performance are accompanied by a price tag of 8,500 Euros, which is the equivalent of Rs 7.02 lakh. Even for such incredible performance, the price point is a little too expensive for what’s essentially a scooter.
