Eureka! is what Audi must be shouting around! German four wheeler manufacturer brand, Audi, seems to have realized what no other four wheeler manufacturer has uptil now. Is it now that the realization has doomed on to Audi or was the buying of Ducati a step related to the same? Well, to stop puzzling you around, it seems that Audi has realized that with the growing population, the number of cars, or just any four wheeler for that matter, is also increasing. The roads all over the world have gone chock-a-block. It in fact dazes a pedestrian to see the vehicles just vrooming past them while they keep standing trying to cross the roads. While two wheelers can snake through all that dead traffic, thus saving time, fuel, and patience! Now that Audi has already bought over Ducati, it could start utilizing on the add on.

Audi might soon provide a small, speedster that would zip around the crowded lanes of our urban areas. With Ducati, which is known for the new technologies that it brought in along with the design that Ducati gave its bikes, Audi surely has an edge over other two wheeler names. From Ducati, Audi gets some ready technologies and designs to be worked upon to bring some low capacity scooters or bikes, which Audi says it plans to start working upon soon. Also, the way the two wheeler segment has picked up profit the world over, Audi too expects to bite a part of this profit. The luxury car brand can grow hugely by venturing in this segment. So, it is an all win-win situation for Audi.

While addressing Ducati people, the CEO of Audi, Mr. Rupert Stadler, said that even though Audi might start on two wheelers some time later on, the brand name Ducati will retain its identity. While Audi would be manufacturing the two wheelers with the technologies and designs that it now owns from Ducati, the machines would still be advertized and sold with the name of Ducati. Audi would not revamp and rename Ducati’s existing bikes and expertise, rather use the technologies that Ducati possessed. Though, it is highly profitable segment to be ventured into by Audi, but it seems pretty far off idea as of now.

However, not to forget, BMW has already ventured in this segment. There already are few high performance bikes that BMW sells and also there is a scooter. And if we count two wheel concepts, then BMW, along with its brand of premium luxury sports hatchback, Mini, sometime back (probably in the year 2010) had talked of a two wheel concept. Also, Mercedes Benz too had showcased a similar concept under its city car brand, Smart. With the top names in the four wheel industry thinking over the concept, some change is expected soon. If it happens, the concept would throw a challenge on the face of the current two wheel manufacturers.
