The Yamaha Fascino managed to double its sales and snatch fifth position from the TVS NTorq 125
The two-wheeler sales report for February has been released and it is the scooter segment that ruled the roost, with the Honda Activa leading the charts as usual. However, the biggest surprise was the Yamaha Fascino which sold more than twice the units it did January, allowing it to claim the 5th spot on the list.
Honda Activa:
Honda’s 110cc scooter continued to lead the two-wheeler sales chart in February. The Honda Activa’s sales number also includes the Activa i and Activa 125. However, these two scooters sell very little in comparison to the 110cc Activa. Also, it sells more than four times the next best selling scooter in this list - the Suzuki Access 125. Honda launched the next generation Activa 6G in January. It comes with a fuel-injected motor and a host of updates, which you can check out here.
Suzuki Access 125:
The 125cc scooter overtook the 110cc TVS Jupiter’s sales figures in December last year. Since then, it has held the number two spot and in February, it finished ahead of the Jupiter by a comfortable margin of 18,663 units. This was despite the Suzuki Access 125’s sales figure dropping by 4,492 units when compared to the month before. Suzuki launched the Access 125 BS6 in January. Know more details about the updated scooter here.
TVS Jupiter:
The Jupiter was one of the first scooters to become BS6 compliant. The scooter has been suffering in the sales department for some time now. It managed to sell 31,330 units in February, 7,249 units lesser than in January. The Jupiter holds third place in the list, 4,964 units ahead of the fourth best selling scooter, the Honda Dio.
Honda Dio:
The Honda Dio too received a BS6 update this year. Know more about the updates here. Like most other scooters in this list, the Dio too witnessed ad drop in sales. It managed to sell 26,494 units in February, 6,157 lesser than in November. In fact, it sits very close to the fifth scooter on this list, the only one that posted positive sales figures.
Yamaha Fascino:
The Fascino had a fantastic month in terms of sales in February. It managed to sell 25,709 units, more than double its sales figure in January. This has allowed it to overtake the TVS Ntorq 125 by 2,905 units. Yamaha launched the Fascino 125 BS6 in December and deliveries commenced by the end of January. The new 125cc scooter, which claims to be more fuel-efficient than the Fascino 125, seems to be selling quite well.
