Two of the top Indian bike manufacturers had yesterday. Both Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp, in this month, have faced dips in their sales graphs. As per the PR on sales report from Bajaj Auto, the company has seen a fall in the overall sales of motorcycles, of 9.97%, standing at 3,04352 units sold in the month of August. While, if we check and compare, during the same time of the last year, 2011, we notice a sale of 3,38,054, as shown by the PR of Bajaj Auto Ltd. Not just this, the export sales too has dipped. The two wheeler manufacturer reported export sales of 1,38,225 units in the month of August of the year 2011, while this year August saw a total export of 1,31,562 units. Thus, giving the export graph a dip of 4.82 percent.
To be noted is the fact that it is not just Bajaj's two wheelers that are experiencing low sales, but also the three wheelers have faced the same. When the last year the company sold around 44,685 units in August, this year it managed selling 40,554 units. Thus lowering down the sales by 9.24 percent. However, worse than Bajaj is Hero MotoCorp hit. It must have realized what the name “Honda” brought to the name “Hero.” Though, cannot in any case deny Hero MotoCorp's efforts and recent sale rises. However, the till now largest two wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has seen a fall in sales in the last month, a dip of 11.88 percent. Hero, last year in Au gust sold 5,03,654 units.
However, this year's August found Hero selling only 4,43,801 units. However, the company has still things to rejoice, if we ignore the sales reports of the last month. For a time period of April to August in this year, 2012, the overall sales stand at 25,70,310 units, while the figures for the same period in the last year, 2011, was 25,24,267 units. However, the company is still hoping to do better with its recent launches, Maestro and Ignitor. Both these two wheelers have been pretty well received by the consumers and thus have been generating good revenues. Many more are yet to come, so we hope to see the evergreen HERO do well.
