Not sold on the Kratos? Don't worry, the market has plenty more on offer
After years of waiting, Tork Motors finally launched the Kratos in India in two variants: standard (priced at Rs 1,02,499) and 'R' (Rs 1,17,499), ex-showroom Delhi, inclusive of FAME-II subsidy. If you don't know what separates the two, this story will help you choose between the Tork Kratos and the Tork Kratos R.
But what if you are not sold on this electric bike? Well, fret not, for the market has plentiful options that'll leave you spoilt for choice. Here are a few of them:
Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 3.0: Rs 1,09,900
If you intended the Kratos to be your commuter, the Yamaha FZ-Fi Version 3.0 fits the bill perfectly. Its 149cc engine dishes out a modest 12.4PS and 13.3Nm, making it not just a friendly commuter but also easier on the pockets.
Bajaj Pulsar NS125: Rs 99,347
But if it is the performance you are after, the Pulsar NS125 should be right up your alley. Our V-box acceleration test shows that the baby NS can sprint from 0-40kmph in 3.28 seconds – that's 0.32 seconds faster than Tork Kartos' claimed figure of 4 seconds. Heck, this Pulsar even outshines the FZ-X's performance.
TVS Apache RTR 160: Rs 1,06,365
You cannot go wrong with the tried-and-tested formula of the Apache RTR 160, which packs more performance than the NS125 (15.53PS and 13.9Nm). And while the Pulsar and the Kratos rely on a combined braking system, the RTR 160 flaunts a single-channel ABS unit.
Aprilia SR125: Rs 1.08 lakh
If you're seeking a fresh design but do not want to compromise on practicality, you can consider the Aprilia SR125. The Italian marque updated the scooter in November 2021, introducing a handful of features, including LED lights and a new LCD instrument console.
Ola Eelctric S1: Rs 99,999
And since we are talking about scooters, how can the Ola Electric S1 be left out! It packs loads of features, boasts a massive 36-litre boot, and being an EV, it is easier on the pocket too. To top that off, it also has a more claimed range than the Kratos. Ola has even given customers access to its Hypercharger network for free until June 2022.
