Each of the three colour schemes bring something unique to the table, but which one should you go for?
Triumph recently launched the Daytona 660 in India, and it is priced at Rs 9,85,719 (ex-showroom). It is offered in 3 dual-tone colour schemes and in this article, we will be going over the 3 colours and explaining what each has to offer and which one you should go for.
Snowdonia White/Sapphire Black
The Snowdonia White/Sapphire Black offers a white finish on the headlight section, top half of the fairing and the fuel tank. The colour looks pretty good and has that elegance which we tend to associate with white finishes generally. The colour scheme also features ‘Daytona 660’ written on the fairing with the ‘660’ highlighted in red.
It also stands out as it looks similar to the white colour scheme that was offered on the now-discontinued Triumph Daytona 675R.
But overall, the plain black and white mix just doesn’t seem to cut it and the colour scheme makes you feel like Triumph could have added a bit more to it, like they did with the old Daytona 675R’s white paint scheme that also featured a red finish on the subframe.
That said, there will be a lot of customers who might prefer the simple design and elegance this colour scheme has to offer. Plus the similarities with the old Daytona 675R could just be the cherry on top.
Satin Granite/Satin Jet Black
The Satin Granite/Satin Jet Black colour scheme offers a darker shade and is the most subtle one out of the three. It offers a lighter granite shade black finish in the headlight section, top half of the fairing and fuel tank.
The liveries on this colour scheme use a fluorescent yellow colour, making the markings stand out quite a bit. The fairing features a similar ‘Daytona 660’ lettering with ‘Daytona’ in white and ‘660’ in fluorescent yellow.
Overall, this colour scheme is a good choice for those who are looking for something that is a bit more subtle.
Carnival Red/Sapphire Black
This colour scheme is like a middle-ground between the Snowdonia White/Sapphire Black and the Satin Granite/Satin Jet Black colour scheme, as it doesn’t come off as too flashy or too subtle.
It offers a dark red finish on the headlight, top half of the fairing and the fuel tank. In terms of styling and graphics, it gets the same ‘Daytona 660’ lettering, with ‘Daytona’ in white and ‘660’ in grey. Overall, this colour scheme stands out thanks to the red finish and is perfect for those who feel that black and white colours are a bit too bland, especially on a bike like this.
Other than the different colour finishes on the front half, the colour schemes maintain a consistent design and colour theme on the other part of the bike, notably the lower half of the fairing and the tail section, both getting different shades of black.
Other than these subtle changes in looks, the performance on all three offerings remains the same. The bike is powered by a 660cc, liquid-cooled, three cylinder engine which produces 95PS and 69Nm.
The Triumph Daytona 660 is now positioned as one of the entry level multi-cylinder offering, and it goes up against the Kawasaki Ninja 650, which currently sells at Rs 7,16,000 (ex-showroom).
